MAIN PURPOSE: Record a baby's birth details on a keepsake block
A soft-cornered 70 mm block that records a birth on its four sides: the name in relief on the front, then the date, the time and the weight and length engraved round the others, with a small heart above the name. It sits on a nursery shelf for years and goes into the memory box later.

MAIN PURPOSE: Collect a daily note of thanks inside a column
A tall gratitude stele with a slot in its crown. Write one thing you are thankful for on a slip of paper each day, fold it and post it in; on New Year's Eve lift the column off its notes and read the year back. The front carries the year and a short line. Print it as shown, then turn it over so the floor becomes the top.

MAIN PURPOSE: Frame a postcard of your next trip in a doorway
A doorway to the next place you are going. A 150 mm block has an arched door cut through its face, and a postcard dropped into the slot behind fills the doorway with Kyoto, a beach or a mountain. Swap the card when the plan changes; the lintel names the destination.

MAIN PURPOSE: Show a constellation with a dedication
The seven stars of the Plough, the constellation people have navigated by for centuries, pierced through the face of a 150 mm block with the name and a date beneath. Drop an LED tealight or puck in through the open top and the stars glow; choose the night that matters (the first trip, the proposal).

MAIN PURPOSE: Remember a pet with its own collar and tag
A memorial for a much-loved pet. Loop the old collar around the narrow neck of the stele, where the tag hangs at the front, and keep a lock of fur or a favourite treat under the little lid on top. The base carries the name, the years and a paw print.

MAIN PURPOSE: Build a stackable miniature room at 1:24 scale
A 1:24 room box that stacks into a building. Each 120 mm room is open at the front, with a window in the back wall, a second window and a door in the side walls and scored floorboards, so you can furnish a flat, a shop or a studio. Stack rooms into a tower or set them side by side as a street.

MAIN PURPOSE: Make incense smoke pour from a temple door
A temple that pours fog. Stand a backflow incense cone in the shrine on the roof: its smoke sinks through the roof into the hollow tower and rolls out of the arched door like a slow waterfall into the courtyard pool. Fluted pilasters run up the sides; the pool catches the ash.

Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Store small things in a two-deck colony habitat
A colony habitat box from a retro space age. A 120 mm module with three portholes and an airlock door carries a tall upper deck that lifts off, with a hatch you can drop things through, so it stores earbuds, cables or a tiny crew of figures. Print several and line them up as a base camp on the shelf.

MAIN PURPOSE: Frame a moss garden in a miniature glasshouse
A tabletop Wardian case, the Victorian glasshouse that invented the terrarium. Its four walls are a lattice of square panes; press thin acetate inside and it becomes a closed moss garden, or leave it open as a frame round a succulent. A plinth foot lifts it off the table.

MAIN PURPOSE: Keep pens in a canyon between two cliff planters
A desk landscape with a river of pens. Two cliff planters, one low and one high, frame a narrow canyon floor where pens and pencils lie; fill the clifftops with moss, sand or small succulents. Seen from the side it is a tiny gorge running along the front of your monitor.
