No. SO3D is built around simple controls: pick a Base type, drag the sliders for width, depth and height, and add dividers, lids, drawers or text. The 3D preview updates as you go, and you can start from a ready-made template.

Yes. SO3D builds every part as a closed solid and downloads it as an STL that opens in any slicer. You can also download a 3MF file, which opens in Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer with the parts laid out on the plate. Download gives you one zip with both: an STL folder and a 3MF folder, one file per part (a lid, drawer or baseplate each get their own), plus print notes. File > Download STL only or 3MF only gives just one format.
Yes. Use + Add Base to build a second base on top (or beside) the first, then pick a Stack method: Flat, Chamfer (the upper bin drops into a chamfered top), Inner Rim, Pins, Tapered Pins, Registration Dimples, Offset, Grip, or a screw-in column that can be made taller with 50, 100 or 150 mm extensions. Disc magnets can hold them together (Hole and Extras, Magnets). Stack test on the preview shows how the parts fit.
Yes. In Hole and Extras, Magnets adds disc-magnet pockets sized to the magnet you pick (6 × 2 mm up to 12 × 3 mm, or a custom size), as a press fit or glue-in. Put them between a lid and its base or between two stacked bases, and the matching pockets are made on both parts, with posts inside the lower part; or under the floor or in an outer wall to hold the box to steel. Pick corners, along the edges, the centre or a custom spot; the pockets keep clear of holes, dividers and text, and a thin wall or floor gets a small pad inside to close each pocket.
Yes. On an added base’s Base tab, Move up and Move down swap its design with the base above or below, and Swap with Base A swaps it with the first base. The design moves (shape, size, walls, corners, dividers, holes and text); each position keeps how it sits: its Base bottom, its lid, the stack method and placement. Features only Base A can have, like a drawer sleeve or Gridfinity, stay on Base A, and the panel tells you. Undo takes it back.
Yes. Set Base bottom to Tilted wedge to raise one side by 3° to 45°, printed with the tray or as a separate wedge (which can be hollow to save plastic). On square and rectangular trays you can add a drain gap in the low wall, a drain spout that carries the water past the edge, and floor ribs that lead the water to it. Two splayed legs that tilt the tray are also available.
Yes. In Base type, pick Rounded square or Rounded rectangle for a flat plate, or Rounded box or Rounded rectangular for a tray with walls, then set Corner radius under Width and Depth: from 0 (sharp) up to half the shorter side, which makes the ends fully round. The floor, the walls, a lid and its fit all follow the same curve; holes, text and patterns sit on the straight part of each wall, and dividers stay inside the curve. You can also round a plain Square, Box, Rectangle or Rectangular with the same slider, and every added base (Base B, C…) has its own Corner radius on its Base tab. Gridfinity bins keep their standard corners.
Up to 150 mm across for a round hole, and up to 200 mm wide and tall for the other shapes. Every hole fits itself to the wall, floor, lid or divider it is cut into and keeps a 3 mm frame, so it never cuts through an edge by accident; when a hole has been fitted smaller, the panel tells you. Tick Notch (open to top edge) to turn a wall or divider hole into a slot that opens through the top edge, for example for a cable.
All of them. STL works with every slicer, including Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer and Cura. Choose your printer under View > My printer and SO3D shows its bed outline and warns you if a part is too big to print.
An augmented reality (AR) preview. On an Android phone or iPhone it uses your camera to place a real-size copy of your design on your desk, so you can check the fit before printing. On a computer it shows a QR code to open the same design on your phone. It’s free and needs no app.
More than 150 ready-made outlines for the base of your model: hooks, clips, templates, tools and fun shapes, taken from the models in our showcase. Pick Base type › Shape library…, choose one, and change its size, height and walls as you like. In Shape pocket, the Pocket library does the same for 77 tool and gadget pockets. Both are free on every plan; tracing your own photo with “From picture…” is part of Hobbyist.

Yes. Upgrade from your dashboard, and manage or cancel your subscription from Billing at any time. If you cancel, you keep Hobbyist until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then move back to Starter. Your saved projects stay in your account.
Payments are handled by Stripe, so your card details never touch our servers. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, and your projects aren’t listed publicly unless you share a link or one is picked for the Community showcase. Read our Privacy Policy for the details.
