About

Built by makers,
for makers.

The short version: we got tired of fighting CAD software just to make a box with dividers in it.

SO3D.xyz is a parametric 3D model generator. You move sliders, we generate a watertight, production-ready STL in under two seconds -- no CAD license, no plugin hell, no wrestling with a mouse to draw a straight line. It's the tool we wished existed when we were designing our own storage organizers, brackets and print-farm fixtures.

Why we built this

Every maker has the same story: you need one specific part -- a drawer divider, a mounting bracket, a cable clip -- and traditional CAD tools make you pay for that simplicity with an hour of dragging constraints around. We thought the actual hard part (the geometry, the manifold checking, the export) should be instant, and the only thing left for you to do should be deciding what the part actually needs to be.

So we built a generator that treats every model as a set of parameters instead of a blank canvas. Change a number, watch the model update in real time, export the moment it looks right. No CAD experience required, and no compromise on the kind of file a real printer or production line can actually use.

What we care about

Watertight, manifold-safe exports by construction -- not by hoping the slicer is forgiving. Speed, because a two-second iteration loop changes how you design. And a generous free tier, because the best tool for makers is one they can actually afford to use every day.

Where we're headed

SO3D started as a single storage-organizer generator and has grown into a broader parametric platform, with a REST API, a batch pipeline for print farms, and a community showcase of shared models. We're still building in the open, still shipping fast, and still starting every new feature from the same question: does this make it faster to go from idea to printed part?

Questions, feedback, or just want to say hi? Reach out -- we read everything.

Fast by default

Sub-two-second generation on every model, every time -- iteration speed is the whole point.

Watertight, always

Every export passes automated manifold validation before the download button even appears.

Built with makers

Feature requests, bug reports and the community showcase all come from people actually printing.
