Preview of Two-cup water level
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Carry a level line across a room or round a corner with two cups and a tube of water
Builders levelled the pyramids and the first houses with nothing but water, and it still beats a bubble level over long distances. Join two of these cups with any length of clear tube and fill them halfway: the water surface in both cups always sits at exactly the same height, wherever you put them. Hold one against your mark, then carry the other across the room, round a corner or to the far end of a fence, and mark where its water settles. Perfect for shelves, fences, patios and tiles.

Preview of Screen-print squeegee rest
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Park an inky squeegee and catch the drips
A long drip tray for screen printers. The inked squeegee lies across the trough between pulls, a deep end well holds the ink pot or spatula, and the scooped front edge lets you scrape spare ink straight back into the well.

Preview of Pin Pilot
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Start small nails without hitting fingers
Press a panel pin or small nail into the slot that grips it and tap it in while holding the long handle: your fingers stay 100 mm from the hammer, and the three slots take shanks from 1.4 to 3 mm. Pull the holder away sideways once the nail stands on its own.

Preview of Spoon Blank
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Mark out a carving spoon blank
Lay the template on a split green-wood blank with the notches on the grain line and draw round it: you get a well-proportioned eating spoon, a 46 mm bowl on a 190 mm handle, ready to axe and carve, and every spoon in a set comes out the same size.

Preview of Sheet Mule
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Carry big sheets of board single-handed
Carry a full sheet of plywood or plasterboard on your own: hook the bottom edge into the J, stand the sheet on edge against your side and lift by the top handle. Your arm hangs straight, the board stays vertical and the sheet no longer needs two people or a wide arm span.

Preview of Stitch Clam
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Hold leather for hand stitching
A leather stitching clam: glue a strip of scrap leather to the inside of each jaw tip, grip the long spring jaws between your knees and the faced jaws pinch the leather edge, holding it upright and still so both hands are free for saddle stitching with two needles.

Preview of Remaining-filament spool gauge
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Estimate how much filament is left on a spool
Rest the shoulder on the rim of a 1 kg spool's 200 mm flange and see which step the filament surface reaches: the steps mark 75, 50, 25 and 10 % left, worked out from the wound volume rather than the depth, so you know whether the spool will last a long print before you start it.

Preview of Bowden coupler collet clips
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Stop Bowden tubes moving in their couplers
Slide a horseshoe under the collet of each push-fit coupler, round the PTFE tube: the collet can no longer creep in and out with every retraction, which is what slowly wears the tube end and causes stringing and under-extrusion on Bowden printers.

Preview of Filament splice jig
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Join two filament ends into one strand
Thread 60 mm of 4 mm PTFE tube through the holes in the two end walls, push a filament end in from each side until they meet over the open middle, then warm that spot with a heat gun and push gently: the tube keeps the ends concentric, so the joint stays 1.75 mm and feeds through the extruder. Spool ends become usable.

Preview of E-step calibration marking gauge
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Calibrate extruder steps per millimetre
Stand the foot on top of the extruder, lay the filament along the strip and mark it at the 120 mm notch; extrude 100 mm and the mark should sit at the 100 mm notch. Any gap tells you exactly how far to correct the extruder steps, without juggling a ruler and a pen.
