Stitch Clam

Hold leather for hand stitching

A leather stitching clam: glue a strip of scrap leather to the inside of each jaw tip, grip the long spring jaws between your knees and the faced jaws pinch the leather edge, holding it upright and still so both hands are free for saddle stitching with two needles.
