Preview of 3D-printer scraper dock
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Park a print scraper and glue stick on the printer enclosure
A dock that lives on the side of a 3D printer: the plate scraper drops blade-down into the slot, the glue stick stands in the round cup, and the front bay takes the deburring tool and nozzle wipe. No more hunting for the scraper with a finished print waiting.

By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Unwind filament from a spool lying flat
A low turntable for filament spools: lay the spool flat on the plate, feed the filament up through a guide above the printer, and the ball-bearing base turns as the printer pulls while the rim keeps 200 mm spools centred. Cardboard spools that squeal on rollers unwind smoothly lying down.

Preview of Remaining-filament spool gauge
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Estimate how much filament is left on a spool
Rest the shoulder on the rim of a 1 kg spool's 200 mm flange and see which step the filament surface reaches: the steps mark 75, 50, 25 and 10 % left, worked out from the wound volume rather than the depth, so you know whether the spool will last a long print before you start it.

Preview of Bowden coupler collet clips
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Stop Bowden tubes moving in their couplers
Slide a horseshoe under the collet of each push-fit coupler, round the PTFE tube: the collet can no longer creep in and out with every retraction, which is what slowly wears the tube end and causes stringing and under-extrusion on Bowden printers.

Preview of Filament splice jig
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Join two filament ends into one strand
Thread 60 mm of 4 mm PTFE tube through the holes in the two end walls, push a filament end in from each side until they meet over the open middle, then warm that spot with a heat gun and push gently: the tube keeps the ends concentric, so the joint stays 1.75 mm and feeds through the extruder. Spool ends become usable.

Preview of Heat-set insert plumb bridge
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Press heat-set inserts in square
Slide the printed part under the bridge with its hole below the bore and lower the soldering iron through the 11 mm guide tube: the iron can only travel straight down, so threaded heat-set inserts go in square instead of tilting and leaving a crooked M3 thread.

Preview of Two-handled spool rewinding crank
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Rewind filament evenly onto another spool
Push the 52 mm hub into an empty spool, wrap a turn of tape round it if the bore is loose, and wind filament from a tangled, cardboard or refill spool with both hands on the grips: an even, steady wind with no crossed turns, which is what causes tangles and failed prints halfway through.

Preview of TPU dry-box filament grommet
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Feed filament out of a sealed dry box
Drill a 14 mm hole in a dry box or a cereal container lid and push the spigot through: the 4.2 mm bore grips a 4 mm PTFE tube airtight, so filament feeds straight from the dry spool to the printer without letting damp air back in.

Preview of Resin strainer funnel for bottle return
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Filter resin back into its bottle
Sits in the mouth of a resin bottle and holds a disposable paint strainer cone in its 120 mm bowl: pour the vat back after a print and cured flakes stay in the strainer instead of ruining the next print. The narrow spigot leaves room for air to escape, so the bottle never glugs.

Preview of E-step calibration marking gauge
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Calibrate extruder steps per millimetre
Stand the foot on top of the extruder, lay the filament along the strip and mark it at the 120 mm notch; extrude 100 mm and the mark should sit at the 100 mm notch. Any gap tells you exactly how far to correct the extruder steps, without juggling a ruler and a pen.
