By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Keep matches, a striker and spent ends together
A match safe built as a little cairn of stones. Matches stand in the middle stone under a friction cap, the flat crown of the cap takes a strike strip cut from the matchbox, and the small pebble beside the base is the dish for spent matches, so the kit for the fire or candles lives together.

Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Amplify a paper-strip music box movement
A resonant case for a hand-crank paper-strip music box movement. Screw the movement to the floor, the crank comes out of the side, the punched song strip feeds in at the front and out at the back, and the thin walls and sound port make the little comb far louder and warmer than in your hand.

Preview of Rotunda
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Show and rotate a collection of postcards
A spinning postcard rotunda for the mantelpiece. Twelve radial walls hold cards upright like a ring of columns; spin the lazy-Susan base to bring a different card to the front, so a whole collection of postcards, prints or holiday cards is on show in the space of a side plate.

Preview of Folio Lamp
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Glow on a shelf while propping up a row
A bookend that glows. It stands at the end of a row like a closed hardback: the books lean on its plain side, the wave cut-outs on its cover side light up from an LED puck inside, and the spine carries an engraved title. Coins in the bottom add weight.

By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Hide keys and essentials behind a picture
A shallow wall cabinet whose lid is a picture. Glue a print or photo to the lid and hang it by the door: behind it, three pegs hold keys and the space below takes spare cash, the Wi-Fi card or the meter key, hidden in plain sight.

By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Seat three balls in three dimples by tilting
A three-ball dexterity puzzle: three low ribs split the dish into thirds, each with a seat that holds an 8 mm ball. The ribs are lower than a ball radius, so a sharp flick hops a ball across while a gentle tilt does not. Get one ball resting in every seat at once. Print the lid in clear PETG.

Preview of Parallax Turn
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Turn objects by exact steps for photo scans
A 220 mm turntable for photogrammetry and product shots: the deck spins on ball bearings and is engraved every 45 degrees, so you turn the object by an exact step between photos and the scanning software gets even overlap. Stick a tape mark on the table as the index.

By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Spin a small library of books within reach
A bedside revolving bookcase: a cross spine divides a 250 mm square into four corner bays and a 30 mm lip keeps paperbacks standing spines out. It spins on the ball-bearing base, so sixteen books, a Kindle and reading glasses all come round to your hand.

Preview of Reliquary Plinth
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Display a treasure with its papers below
A display plinth with a drawer: the ring-pull drawer below keeps the certificate, box papers or spare parts of whatever stands on top, and the overhanging cornice frames the piece. Made for a watch, a medal, a model or a signed ball that should keep its provenance close.

Preview of Airfall Caddy
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Keep loose tea fresh under a slow-closing lid
A tea caddy with an air-cushioned lid: the snug telescoping lid traps air as it goes on, so it sinks slowly under its own weight and closes with a soft sigh, like a Japanese chazutsu. The tight fit keeps leaves fresh; engrave the tea name on the front.
