Preview of Desk-size box-fan air purifier shell
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Clean the air round your desk with a fan and filter sheets
A small take on the box-fan air purifier. Line the four honeycomb walls with filter sheets, set a 120 mm computer fan face-up in the round opening in the lid, and it pulls room air in through the filters and blows it out of the top. Quiet enough for a desk or bedside.

Preview of Wardrobe damp trap
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Pull damp out of a wardrobe and stop musty smells
A two-part moisture trap for damp cupboards and wardrobes. Fill the top tray with calcium-chloride crystals: they pull water out of the air, turn to liquid and drip through the holes into the lower chamber, which you empty now and then.

Preview of Mycelium brick mould
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Grow a solid brick of mushroom mycelium as a biodegradable building material
Mycelium, the root network of mushrooms, can be grown into solid shapes and is already used for packaging and insulation. Pack this mould with pasteurised sawdust or hemp mixed with oyster mushroom spawn, put the lid on and leave it somewhere dark. In about a week the white mycelium has bound everything into a light, solid brick. Pop it out, bake it at 90 degrees for an hour to stop the growth, and you have a block that is fire-resistant, insulating and fully compostable. The small vents let it breathe.

Preview of Spider-taxi rescue box
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Catch a spider against the wall and slide a card in to carry it outside
For people who like spiders outside and want them to stay alive. Put the open box over the spider on the wall or floor, slide a postcard in through the slot just under the rim, and it runs along the grooves inside to close the box completely. Carry the spider outside, pull the card and let it go. No squashing, no legs caught under the rim, and you never have to get close.

Preview of Scrap-regrow windowsill station
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Regrow lettuce, celery, spring onions and carrot tops from kitchen scraps
The root ends you throw away will grow again. Stand a lettuce or bok choy stump in the wide dish, a celery base in the shallow one, the white roots of spring onions upright in the tall tube and carrot tops in the small cup, each in a little water. Within days new leaves push up from the middle: spring onions can be cut again in a week, celery grows a new heart and carrot tops sprout feathery greens for pesto. Each well is labelled in its floor.

Preview of Wick Ridge
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Humidify a dry room with no power
A passive humidifier that looks like a paper mountain range. Fill the tray with water and drape folded sheets of blotting paper over the seven fins: both ends dip in, the paper wicks water up and the air takes it away, so a dry room by a radiator gets moisture with no power, noise or filter.

Preview of Jar Jacket
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Turn a reused glass jar into a watertight vase
A fluted sleeve that makes an empty jam jar into a vase. The glass jar inside holds the water, so the print never leaks, and the scalloped outside hides the label marks; wash the jar, keep the jacket.

Preview of Upturn Top
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Turn an upturned bucket into a side table
A table top for an upturned bucket or planter. Print it, flip it, and the deep skirt drops over the base of a storage bucket, so a tub of blankets or toys becomes a side table with a flat top, and the bucket keeps its storage job.

Preview of Termitary
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Fruit a mushroom grow kit with passive airflow
A fruiting chamber for mushroom grow kits, ventilated like a termite mound. Termites farm fungus inside mounds that breathe by the stack effect; here low slots on the front take in fresh air and high slots at the back let the warm moist air out, so oyster mushrooms get humidity without stale air.

Preview of Darning mushroom with gathering neck
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Support fabric while darning holes
Stretch a sock heel or a jumper elbow over the 70 mm face, gather the fabric round the slim neck with a hair tie and weave the darn across a firm, smooth surface. Printed face down, so the darning face comes out glassy and never snags the yarn.
