MAIN PURPOSE: Link modules into a light hanging room divider
Quatrefoil screen modules that link into a hanging room divider. Join them at their four lobes with small split rings and hang the chain from a curtain track or ceiling hooks: the open pattern zones a studio flat or hides a desk while light and air pass through.

MAIN PURPOSE: Balance a crescent on a fingertip
A crescent that balances on a fingertip by its nose. The arch weighs more below the tip than above it, so it tips, swings and always returns level; press an M8 nut into each horn pad and it stands on a pencil point or the Fulcrum Stand tip. A desk object that explains centre of mass without a word.

MAIN PURPOSE: Carry a marble run between rail levels
A drop-shaft tower for a marble run: rails push into eight windows, four facing right and four left at staggered heights. A marble rolls down a rail, falls inside the shaft and lands on the next rail end, which carries it back the other way. Two identical pylons 180 mm apart make the zig-zag; ballast the unused base.

MAIN PURPOSE: Build a balanced hanging mobile
One arm of a hanging mobile: a shallow 214 mm arc with eight thread holes. Hang it by a middle hole, slide the thread until it balances, and hang the next, shorter arm from an end. Print three widths and you have a Calder-style mobile for photos, cards or paper birds.

MAIN PURPOSE: Teach counting in fives and tens with beads
A 20-bead rekenrek, the Dutch counting rack that teaches number sense in fives and tens: two rods run the length of a 260 mm tray, ten beads on each, five red and five white. Children slide groups across to see 7 as 5 and 2 at a glance. Uses 4 mm rods or bamboo skewers.

MAIN PURPOSE: Snap open storage cubes together magnetically
A 60 mm open cube with a pair of 6 x 3 mm magnets in every wall. Fit each wall the same way (north out on the left hole, south on the right) and any face meets any face, so cubes snap into rows, L shapes or towers in a drawer and pull apart to rearrange.

MAIN PURPOSE: Sort incoming post on a modular wall tile
A 100 mm square wall tile that sorts the post: a 30 mm deep pocket open at the top, with a window in its face so you can see at a glance that something has arrived. Tessera tiles share one grid, so letter pockets, hooks and frames build an entryway wall in any arrangement on a 100 mm screw pitch.

Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Build a ring that expands and contracts
One link of an expanding ring: two 50 mm arms kinked at 150 degrees. Pin twelve pairs at their kinks and join the pairs end to end with M3 screws, and the ring breathes from a tight crown to a ring twice as wide when you pull it open. A kinetic centrepiece and a lesson in angulated scissors.

MAIN PURPOSE: Fan ribs into a hanging globe lantern
A lantern that folds flat: twelve crescent ribs bolt together through the eyes at both tips. Closed, it is a single 214 mm crescent; spin the ribs round the axis and they open into a globe that hangs from its top bolt around a battery fairy light, casting a striped shadow.

Medium (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Copy and enlarge drawings with a linkage
The bar of a printable pantograph, the drawing copier: bolt four into a parallelogram, pin one corner to the board, follow a picture with a pointer at one joint and a pencil at the other draws it larger. Eight holes at 30 mm pitch let the joints move for 2x or 3x copies; print two at full and two at half width.
