MAIN PURPOSE: Mark rooms by touch at the door handle
Slips over a lever door handle, the one place every visitor's hand already goes: the room number stands 1.2 mm proud in large plain figures, readable by touch for blind and partially sighted visitors and by sight for everyone else, with no drilling into the door.

MAIN PURPOSE: Label shut-off valves for emergencies
Snaps round a 15 mm pipe next to a stopcock or valve and names it: MAIN WATER, GAS, HEATING. In a leak or an emergency, whoever is at home finds the right valve at once instead of guessing among the pipes under the sink.

MAIN PURPOSE: Label keys with a rewritable tag
A key tag with a recessed writing panel: write the door or locker in pencil, rub it out and reuse it when the key changes. The 2 mm rim keeps the panel off other keys and coins, so the writing survives a pocket.

MAIN PURPOSE: Show whether a daily chore is done
Seven day letters on a slim tag: roll a hair elastic along to today when the fish are fed, the plant watered or the bins put out, and anyone in the house can see whether it is done. The engraved letters let the band roll smoothly and the tag hangs from its hole.

MAIN PURPOSE: Turn a drinking glass into a display dome
A 96 mm plinth with a groove that takes the rim of an upturned drinking glass: any tumbler from 82 to 90 mm across becomes a dust-tight dome over a figure, a pocket watch or a fossil, and the groove stops the glass sliding when the shelf is dusted.

Flat, rounded jaws on a springy one-piece frame: lift stamps by the margin without skin oil or fingernails touching the gum or the perforations, which is how philatelists keep them mint. The jaws have no sharp edges to crease paper.

MAIN PURPOSE: Support old books open without straining the spine
A pair of 20 degree wedges that support each half of an open book from below: the spine is no longer forced flat, so old or tightly bound books can be read, photographed or shown open without cracking. The small lip stops the pages sliding.

MAIN PURPOSE: View fluorescent minerals in daylight
A dark box with a binocular slit at the front and a 22 mm port on the side for a UV torch: lay a specimen inside, close the lid and see its fluorescence glow in daylight, without blacking out the room. Safer too, as the UV stays inside the box.

MAIN PURPOSE: Display flat specimens visible from both sides
Sandwich a pressed leaf, feather or banknote between two 2 mm acrylic sheets and slide them into the frame from the open side, where ledges hold them flat: the specimen seems to float, both sides are visible through the window, and it swaps in seconds.
