Preview of Skateboard bearing press with depth flange
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Press skate bearings into wheels squarely
Slide it onto the truck axle over the second bearing and tighten the axle nut: the ring pushes only on the outer race, and when the 40 mm flange meets the wheel the bearing is exactly flush. No hammer, no skewed bearings, no cracked shields.

Preview of Forearm wrist roller tube
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Train forearms and grip with a rolled weight
Tie a cord through the middle hole, hang a weight plate on the other end and roll it up and down with straight arms: the square 34 mm tube with rounded corners and textured sides works the forearms and grip far harder than any squeeze ball.

Preview of Ab roller wheel for a broom handle
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Make an ab roller from a wheel and a dowel
A 150 mm wheel stiffened by six spokes and a closed face: push a 22 mm dowel or an old broom handle through the hub to make the axle and both grips. Stretch a section of bike inner tube round the tread for grip and quiet rolling.

Preview of Golf ball alignment line stencil
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Draw straight alignment lines on golf balls
Drop a ball into the box and run a fine marker down the front slot, then the back slot: both slots lie on one great circle, so the two strokes join into a long straight putting line. Turn the ball, repeat, and every line is true.

Preview of Map romer for grid references
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Read map grid references precisely
Lay the corner on your point and read the six-figure grid reference straight off the notched edges: 4 mm steps for 100 m on 1:25 000 maps along one edge, 2 mm steps for 1:50 000 maps along the other, with every fifth notch longer.

Preview of Headtorch lantern shell
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Turn a headtorch into a tent lantern
Strap a headtorch round the shell with its lens in the front window and hang it from the top hole: the thin translucent walls spread the beam into soft, even tent light that does not dazzle anyone. Folds nothing, weighs little, uses the torch you already carry.

Preview of Paracord bracelet jig
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Tie paracord bracelets to an exact length
Push two pencils through the double plate: one at the fixed end, one at 6, 7 or 8 inches. Clip the buckle halves over them and the cord stays taut while you tie cobra knots, so every bracelet comes out the same length and tension.

Preview of Avalanche slope clinometer card
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Measure slope angle for avalanche safety
Lay a ski pole down the slope, set the straight edge on it and let a cord with a nut hang from the corner slot: the notches read 25 to 50 degrees, with long marks at 30 and 45, so you know when a slope is steep enough to avalanche.

Preview of Crab and lobster size gauge
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Check crabs and lobsters against minimum size
Hold the gauge across the shell: a brown crab that fits inside the 140 mm notch, or a lobster carapace inside the 87 mm notch, is undersize and goes back. Check your local minimum sizes; the notches are easy to edit.

Preview of Gas canister stabiliser tripod
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Stop a canister stove tipping over
Stand a 230 g screw-thread gas canister in the ring and the three arms spread its footprint to 216 mm, so a top-mounted stove with a full pan no longer topples on uneven ground. Weighs a few grams and nests round the canister in the pot.
