Preview of Rice cooking water dipstick
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Add exactly the right water to rice
Level the rinsed rice in the pan, stand the foot on the surface and pour water until it reaches the right notch: 15 mm for jasmine and sushi rice, 20 mm for long grain, 25 mm for brown. Measuring the depth above the rice works for any pan and any amount, which cup ratios never do.

Preview of Garlic peeling shaker
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Peel a whole bulb of garlic by shaking
Drop in a whole bulb of cloves, push on the friction lid and shake hard for 20 seconds: six low ribs knock the cloves against each other and the wall, and the papery skins come off without crushing or smelly fingers. Tip out the cloves, blow out the skins.

Preview of Four-cherry pitting block
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Stone cherries and olives four at a time
Set four cherries or olives stem-up in the seats and push a chopstick down through each: the 12 mm holes let the stone through but not the fruit, and the stones and juice drop into the chamber below. Tip the block back to empty it through the open rear.

Preview of Hasselback potato cradle
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Slice potatoes deep without cutting through
Lay a potato in the curved trough and slice across it every few millimetres: the knife lands on the two 10 mm rails before it reaches the bottom, so every cut stops at the same depth and the potato stays in one fanned piece. Works for accordion cucumbers and courgettes too.

Preview of Plate-rim wine glass clip
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Hold a wine glass on a plate at a buffet
Push the slot onto the rim of a dinner plate and slide the wine glass stem into the keyhole: at a standing buffet you hold the plate and the glass in one hand and keep the other free for the fork. The 6.5 mm snap mouth keeps the stem from slipping out.

Preview of Steak doneness marker picks
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Mark how each steak is cooked
Snap the four picks apart and push one into each steak as it comes off the grill: the engraved flags read R, MR, M and WD, so every guest gets the steak cooked the way they asked for, even after resting under foil. Into the dishwasher afterwards.

Preview of Soup bowl tilting wedge
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Tilt a bowl to reach the last spoonfuls
Slide the straight edge under one side of a bowl foot: the step tips the bowl about 8 degrees, so the last of the soup or cereal pools on one side where the spoon can reach it. Helpful for anyone eating one-handed or with an unsteady grip.

Preview of Snack bag pour-spout cap
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Turn an open bag into a resealable spout
Push the corner of an opened bag of rice, nuts or cereal up through the collar, fold it back over the rim and screw on the cap: the bag now pours from a neat spout and closes airtight instead of being rolled and clipped. Works with paper and foil bags.

Preview of Opened tin can cover
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Cover an opened tin in the fridge
Snap the cover over the rim of an opened 73 mm tin of pet food, beans or tomato puree before it goes in the fridge: no smell, no cling film, and the flat top lets you stand another tin on it. Rinse and reuse.

Preview of Loaf cut-end cap
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Keep a cut loaf fresh without a bag
Stand a cut sourdough or bloomer cut-face down in the cap on the bread board: the cut end stays soft and the crust stays crisp, which a plastic bag never manages. 150 x 110 mm fits most round and oval loaves.
