Preview of Ratchet strap winding key
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Roll ratchet straps up neatly
Feed the loose end of a 25 mm ratchet strap through the slot in the shaft and turn the T handle like a clock key: the strap winds into a tight, flat roll in seconds, ready to tape or band, instead of a tangle in the boot.

Preview of Speedlight honeycomb grid with sleeve
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Narrow a speedlight beam into a spot
Slide the 30 mm sleeve over a speedlight head and the 34 mm deep egg-crate cells turn its wide spray into a tight pool of light with soft edges: a hair light, a background spot or a moody portrait light, for the price of a few metres of filament.

Preview of Lens focus lever tab
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Add a focus lever to a manual lens
Clip the TPU ring round a manual lens focus ring and the knob gives you a lever: smooth, repeatable focus pulls with one fingertip, the way cinema lenses work, and you can feel where the focus is without looking.

Preview of Product photo 360 turntable
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Shoot evenly spaced 360 degree product photos
A lazy-Susan turntable with 0 to 315 degree marks engraved round the lid: turn the product one mark per shot and you get eight evenly spaced frames for a 360 degree spin on a web shop, with no motor and no guesswork.

Preview of Heart bokeh lens cap
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Turn out-of-focus highlights into hearts
Slip the cap over a fast prime and shoot fairy lights out of focus: every highlight turns into a heart, because the cut-out becomes the shape of the aperture. A favourite wedding and Christmas trick, in one 1.6 mm cap.

Preview of Egg-timer time-lapse panning cap
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Pan a camera slowly for time-lapse video
Push the cap over a twist kitchen timer and bolt a small camera or ball head through the 1/4 inch hole: wind the timer to 60 minutes and it pans the camera through a full, smooth turn while it shoots a time-lapse. The cheapest motion control there is. Print it as shown, then turn it over so the floor becomes the top.

Preview of 35 mm film leader trimming template
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Cut a correct leader on 35 mm film
After pulling the leader out of a bulk-loaded or rescued cassette, lay the film against the template and cut round the tongue: the leader gets the exact half-width shape and rounded tip that camera take-up spools need to grab it.

Preview of Darkroom tray rocker pair
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple (set)
MAIN PURPOSE: Agitate darkroom trays evenly
Set a developing tray on the two shallow rockers and nudge it with one finger: it rocks in a gentle, even wave, so the chemistry flows over the print without lifting corners or splashing. The end lips stop the tray sliding off.

Preview of 35 mm pinhole camera body
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Take photos on 35 mm film with a pinhole
Load a film cassette in the left chamber and an empty one on the right, close the lid and you have a working pinhole camera: film runs across the top of the 36 mm frame chamber, the f/160 pinhole sits in a foil disc over the floor hole, and a coin through the front holes turns the spools.

Preview of Wax-tuned pentatonic pan flute
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Play and tune a pentatonic pan flute
Eight closed pipes 100 mm deep, labelled A5 to D7: tune each one with a tuner app by dropping in beeswax or Blu Tack until the note is true, just as Andean makers tune with wax. The rounded rims are kind to the lips and every pipe is re-tunable.
