MAIN PURPOSE: Peg strawberry runners down to root
Peg each new plantlet on a strawberry runner onto a small pot of compost with a U-pin, so it roots while the mother plant still feeds it; after three weeks snip the runner and you have a free plant for next year's bed.

Push the spike into the soil and snap 4 mm micro drip tube into the C clip at the top: each dripper stays pointed at the root zone of its plant instead of wandering, so the irrigation water goes exactly where it is needed.

Put cleaned mason bee cocoons in the box in spring and hang it beside the bee hotel: the bees chew out and leave through the single 8 mm hole, while birds and mice cannot reach the cocoons and the lid lifts off to clear the empty cases.

Spread saved bean, tomato or flower seed on the fine grid and stack several screens: the low front and back walls leave a gap between layers, so air flows through every one and the seed dries evenly in a shady spot before you pack it away.

Snaps onto a round balcony handrail up to 43 mm and holds a 12 mm cane upright beside it: two clamps per cane turn a rented balcony into a trellis for tomatoes, beans or sweet peas, with no drilling and no wire round the railing.

Press it 3 cm into a grow bag round a tomato or pepper: water poured inside soaks down to the roots instead of running off the plastic, and the open grid floor lets you top up with extra compost for a deeper root run.
