Preview of Feely-box guessing game
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Guess hidden objects by touch while the audience watches through the back window
Put something mysterious inside: a peeled grape, a pine cone, a toy dinosaur, cold spaghetti. The guesser reaches in through the two arm holes and has to name it by touch alone. The audience can see everything through the window at the back, and their faces are half the fun. It also builds vocabulary and touch skills for young children, and the lid keeps the next surprise hidden.

Preview of Snail-racing championship table
By Krypto
Complexity
Simple
MAIN PURPOSE: Race garden snails from the centre circle to the edge, championship style
Every July the village of Congham in Norfolk holds the World Snail Racing Championships, on a round table: the snails start in the middle and the first to reach the outer edge wins. This is the home version, with START engraved in the middle and FINISH round the edge. Line them up, say "ready, steady, slow!", and settle in. The record is two minutes for 13 inches, so bring snacks.

Preview of Grow-tall savings tower
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Save coins in a money box that grows a level taller as each one fills
Saving is easier when you can see it grow. Coins drop through the slot in the top cap and pile up from the bottom, visible through the clear walls. When the coins reach the top of a level, add another one underneath the cap: the tower literally gets taller as the savings grow. Write the goal on the cap with a marker, and lift the levels apart to count up.

Preview of Family chore turntable
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Rotate household chores between family members every week
No more arguing about whose turn it is. Each bay holds a family member's name token, and each side of the box names a chore: DISHES, BINS, PETS, TIDY. Every week, a quarter turn on the ball-bearing base moves everyone on to the next job. It is fair, visible and spun by the children themselves.

Preview of Swear jar
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Collect a coin for every swear word through a swinging flap
The family swear jar, with a bin-style swing flap that swallows each fine with a satisfying clack. SWEAR JAR is raised on the front and PAY UP on the side. Spend the takings on a takeaway everyone shares.

Preview of Pet-rock adoption crate
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Give a found pebble a home, a bed and a name
A shipping crate for the lowest-maintenance pet there is. Breathing holes run along both sides (the rock does not need them, which is the joke), a low bed rail keeps it from rolling about, and PET ROCK is stencilled on the front like freight. Children find a pebble on a walk, paint a face on it and give it a name. It also makes a good office secret-Santa gift.

Preview of Spin-art paint spinner
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Spin a card on a turntable while dripping paint for spin art
Spin art as at the fairground: a square of card spins on a ball-bearing turntable while children drip paint on it, and the tall wall round the edge catches the spray so the kitchen doesn't get painted too. No motor or batteries, just a good push.

Preview of Feelings check-in board
By Krypto
Complexity
Medium
MAIN PURPOSE: Let children post a token in the bay that matches how they feel
A feelings check-in for classrooms and family kitchens. Children drop their named token into HAPPY, CALM, WORRIED or ANGRY when they arrive, each word in its own colour. Adults can see at a glance who might need a quiet word, and children practise naming their feelings without having to say them out loud.

Preview of Sticker-swap box
By Krypto
Complexity
Multi-part assembly
MAIN PURPOSE: Sort collectible album stickers into got and need for swapping
During every big tournament, playgrounds turn into sticker markets. This pocket box keeps a collector's doubles in GOT and their wants list in NEED, so a swap takes seconds and nothing gets mixed up. The lid keeps the whole trade safe in a school bag.

Preview of Magnetic poetry word tray
By Krypto
Complexity
Advanced
MAIN PURPOSE: Sort fridge poetry word magnets by type
Fridge poetry is fun until the words are in one heap. This tray sorts the magnets into NOUNS, VERBS, ADJ, ADV, LITTLE (the, a, of), ENDS (-s, -ed, -ing), NAMES and SPARE, so writing a line becomes picking words instead of hunting for them.
