Tissue in-and-out box

Pull clean tissues from the top and post used ones into a flap bin on the side

Every cold ends with a mountain of used tissues on the bedside table. This box solves both halves of the problem: clean tissues pull out of the slot in the top, and used ones go straight through the swinging flap of the bin built onto its side, out of sight. The bin lid lifts off for emptying. CLEAN and USED are raised on the fronts, so nobody gets them mixed up at 3 a.m.

What’s in it

  • Rectangular, 130 × 130 × 120 mm, with 2.4 mm walls
  • 1 hole in the floor
  • Raised text: “CLEAN”, “USED”
  • 2 more bases built on (Bases B–C)
  • Base B: rectangular, 130 × 130 mm, 6 mm tall (stacked)
  • Base C: rectangular, 90 × 130 mm, 100 mm tall (beside)

How to print it

Drop a folded stack of tissues into the main box under the slotted top; the bin flap swings in and the bin's lid lifts off to empty.

Prints as shown on its floor, no supports. The added base's lid prints separately. Stacked parts are fused into one print.

Filament: at most about 211 g of PLA printed solid (roughly $4.22 at $20 per kg); normal infill uses less.

To get the files, open it in the generator and choose File › Download STL (one file per part) or Download 3MF (every part on one plate).

Questions

What size is the tissue in-and-out box model?

The tissue in-and-out box model measures 130 × 130 × 120 mm (width × depth × height). That is Base A; 2 more bases are built on. You can change every size in the free SO3D.xyz generator before you download it.

Does it need supports?

No. Drop a folded stack of tissues into the main box under the slotted top; the bin flap swings in and the bin's lid lifts off to empty. Prints as shown on its floor, no supports. The added base's lid prints separately. Stacked parts are fused into one print.

How much filament does it use?

At most about 211 g of PLA (170 cm³ printed solid), roughly $4.22 of filament at $20 per kg. Normal infill uses less.

How many parts does it print as?

2 parts. The download lays each part flat in its best print position: Download STL gives one file per part, Download 3MF puts them all on one plate.

Can I change it?

Yes. Open it in the SO3D.xyz generator (free, in your browser), change the size, walls, dividers, holes, text or anything else, then download it as STL or 3MF for your slicer.
