Mirror-therapy box
Trick the brain with a mirror for phantom-limb pain and stroke recovery
Mirror therapy was invented by the neuroscientist V. S. Ramachandran. Both hands go in through the front holes, with a mirror standing in the slot between them, facing the good hand. Looking at the mirror, the patient sees the good hand moving where the hidden hand should be, and the brain is fooled into feeling the hidden limb move freely. It is used for phantom-limb pain, stroke rehabilitation and complex regional pain syndrome.
