Square-egg press
Turn a hot boiled egg into a perfect cube for lunch boxes and bento
A hot boiled egg is surprisingly soft. Peel it while it is still hot, drop it into this box and press the lid down over it: the lid squeezes the egg into the square chamber, and ten minutes in iced water sets it in shape. Out comes a cube with sharp corners that slices into square egg pieces for sandwiches, stacks in a bento and makes children ask how. It was a craze in Japan in the 1970s.
