Pull-and-tear bag roll drawer box

Pull one bag at a time out of a closed box in the drawer

A roll of freezer, sandwich or bin bags turns on a wooden dowel that runs through the end walls of this box, and the first bag feeds up through the slot in the lid. Pull one bag out like a tissue and tear it off at the perforation; the next one waits in the slot. The roll never unwinds across the drawer, and you never hunt for the loose end again.
