Pendulum letter scale

Weigh letters without an electronic scale

Hang the scale on a drawing pin through the top hole, clip a letter to the arm with a bulldog clip and read the swing against a plumb thread: up to 100 g, enough for every letter rate. Calibrate the marks once with coins (a 1p weighs 3.56 g).
