Kerf-keeper wedge

Stop a saw kerf closing on the blade

When ripping a long board by hand, tap the wedge into the kerf behind the saw: it holds the cut open from 1.5 to 6 mm, so the wood cannot close and pinch the blade, and the saw keeps running free and straight to the end of the cut.
