Isopod culture enclosure

Keep a colony of isopods with a moist side and a dry side

A starter enclosure for isopods. Fine honeycomb vents at the top of both ends keep air moving, and a low divider splits it into a moist side for moss and a dry side for leaf litter and cork bark. The lift-off lid has a bar handle.

What’s in it

  • Rectangular, 210 × 140 × 100 mm, with 2.4 mm walls
  • 1 divider
  • Raised text: “ISOPODS”
  • 2 patterned wall panels (cut-out)
  • Lift-off lid (prints separately)

How to print it

For dwarf species, glue fine mesh behind the vents. PETG takes the damp better than PLA.

Prints as shown on its floor, no supports. The lid prints as a separate part, top down.

Filament: at most about 426 g of PLA printed solid (roughly $8.53 at $20 per kg); normal infill uses less.

To get the files, open it in the generator and choose File › Download STL (one file per part) or Download 3MF (every part on one plate).
