Make any model your exact size in SO3D
Open a model in the generator, type the size you need, and download a fresh STL or 3MF: there is no CAD to learn, and it runs in your browser for free. Here is the whole path, from the first click to a file in your slicer.
1. Choose how to start
When the generator opens, it asks how you would like to start:
- Quick and easy — four simple steps: shape, size, extras, download. Best for a first try.
- Design it your way — a blank base with every setting.
- Start from a template — a ready-made organizer you then change.
- Customize a model — pick any model from the Showcase or a collection and make it your own.
2. Set the size
Type the Width, Depth and Height in millimetres, or drag the sliders. The 3D view updates as you go. For a drawer, measure first (see How to measure a drawer) or use Fill my drawer, which works out a matching set of bins for you.
3. Tell SO3D your printer
Pick your printer from the list. SO3D then warns you if a part is too big for its bed, and Fill my drawer plans bins that fit.
4. Add the extras
Only add what you need:
- Dividers to split the space into sections.
- Label slots, scoops and finger notches for small parts.
- Shape pocket: pick one of 77 ready-made tool pockets from the Pocket library, or (Hobbyist plan) trace a photo of your own tool. See Tool storage with shaped pockets.
- Lid in one of seven styles (see Lids that fit).
- Wall designs — textures and patterns such as Voronoi or Honeycomb.
5. Check it
Spin the model around to look at it from every side. Try AR view on a phone to see it at real size on your desk, or watch it built step by step.
6. Download and print
Open the File menu and choose Download STL only, Download 3MF only or Download (STL + 3MF). STL opens in any slicer; 3MF also keeps each part on its own plate, ready to print in Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer. Each download includes print notes with every part's size and which way up to print it. Then slice and print — PLA, 0.2 mm layers and 15% infill suit most organizers.
Save it for later
With a free Starter account you can save projects and come back to tweak them. Shared models get a link others can open and remix.
Worked example: a desk drawer in five minutes
- Measure the drawer: 300 mm wide, 400 mm deep, 60 mm high inside.
- Open File › Fill my drawer…, type those numbers and pick a Bambu Lab A1. SO3D plans 2 × 2 bins of 148 × 198 × 58 mm.
- Make the bin, then add two dividers to one copy for pens, and a label slot to another.
- Download the 3MF, open it in Bambu Studio and print the four bins.
Common questions
Do I need an account? No. You can design and download without signing up. A free Starter account lets you save your projects and come back to them.
Is there a mark on free downloads? Yes, a small "SO3D.xyz" engraved under the base, where nobody sees it once the bin sits in a drawer. Hobbyist downloads have no mark.
Does it work on a phone or tablet? Yes, the generator runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers. A computer is easier for fine adjustments.
Can I share my design? Yes. Save it and share its link: anyone who opens it can print it as it is or change it for themselves.
